Promoting British Values

The Department for Education introduced a statutory duty for schools to promote British Values and to ensure they are actively promoted and adhered to in schools. It required schools “to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.” Pioneer Secondary Academy uses a range of different strategies within the National curriculum, our PD programme, assemblies, faith, values and ethos to secure such outcomes for students.

Pioneer Secondary Academy is committed to promoting fundamental British Value. We are committed to serving its community. We recognise the multi-cultural, multi-faith and ever-changing nature of the United Kingdom. We also understand and take seriously the vital role we have in ensuring that groups or individuals within the school are not subjected to intimidation or radicalisation by those wishing to pressurise or illegally influence them.

The Pioneer Secondary Academy approach to promoting fundamental British values follows equal opportunities guidance which guarantees that there will be no discrimination against any individual or group, regardless of gender, sexuality, faith, ethnicity, political or financial status, or similar. We are devoted to preparing and equipping students for their life during and after their time with us.
