We are proud to be one of only 500 secondary schools in the UK (7.5%) with its own CCF unit. From humble beginnings in October 2018 the unit has grown to almost 55 cadets and 8 staff (5 school staff and 3 external volunteers).

We uphold and practise the core values of the British Army – Selfless commitment, Respect for others, Loyalty, Integrity, Discipline and Courage.

Advancing through the ranks as cadet NCOs, there is a clear focus on leadership development.

The Pioneer CCF specialises in Expeditions and Adventurous Training. Cadets can choose to complete Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards as well as participate in exciting Adventure Training Camps around the UK.

The impact of the CCF on personal development cannot be underestimated and this can best be demonstrated using the words of one of our cadets:

“CCF has hugely improved my confidence, leadership, and self-belief, making me both mentally and physically stronger and more resilient. I have also learnt how to deal with difficult situations, and to have greater confidence in my abilities. I can honestly say that CCF has made me the person I am today, and I really don’t know what I would have done without joining. It is truly the best decision I have ever made”

We look forward to welcoming you on board!
